Nicole Burns

Nicole Burns, PMHNP-BC, BSN, provides compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care to adults at Hillside Wellness Center.

Nicole is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. With a strong clinical background in inpatient psychiatric care, medication management, therapeutic interventions, and comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, Nicole is committed to developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that support each patient's unique needs, goals, and path toward recovery.

Nicole earned her bachelor's degree from Gwynedd Mercy University and her master's degree from Wilkes University. Her education and clinical experience have strengthened her passion for helping individuals navigate complex mental health concerns with empathy, respect, and clinical excellence. She recognizes that mental health conditions can deeply affect a person's quality of life, relationships, sense of identity, and daily functioning, and she approaches each patient with compassion, patience, and understanding.

Nicole believes that every person's story is unique, and she strives to meet patients exactly where they are in their journey. Her approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and rooted in dignity and respect. She values actively involving patients in decisions about their treatment, empowering them to better understand their mental health, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward stability and healing.

She is especially passionate about supporting individuals during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Whether working with patients experiencing substance use concerns, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions, Nicole is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and trusting environment where healing, growth, and long-term wellness can occur.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Nicole's work is witnessing patients rebuild their lives, regain independence, restore hope, and rediscover their strengths. She considers it an honor to walk alongside individuals as they move toward recovery, emotional wellness, and improved overall well-being.

Outside of her professional work, Nicole enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and appreciating everything about the fall season, which is her favorite time of year. She is also a proud dog mom to three dogs who mean the world to her and bring tremendous joy to her life.
